Gifts for the traveler

We’ve spent enough time away to know a thing or two about travel wardrobes – and gifts for those who live out of a suitcase. Some travel with multiple checked bags and still overpack. Others cross the Atlantic with just a backpack and a very clear sense of superiority.

Either way, everyone travels differently. That’s why we’ve categorized the traveler types and selected pieces that actually will be appreciated. Thoughtful and wearable, these are travel gifts designed to fit the minimalist, the ocean devotee, the heat seeker, and anyone in between. Enjoy a gift guide for travelers.

City Drifter

Have read all guides on the best museum shops and espresso shots. Masters the art of moving like a local by subtly hiding their phone when opening maps.

Follow our architectural shirt guide for the best match, but a comfortable shirt is always a safe way to go.

Slow Wanderer

Wakes up early just to do nothing, but somehow manage to be active all the time. Walks barefoot, eats late, talks about “balance” and ”recharging”.

Linen is the way to go for this one.

Digital Nomad

Claims to work from anywhere. Mostly seen on different cafés writing Substack drafts. Always becomes best friends with the baristas.

A pair of comfy pants sounds about right (with all the café chairs they sit on.)

Ocean Devotee

Out-of-office means salt in hair and catching waves. The ocean devotee knows every beach bar within a ten-mile radius.

Let this person go crazy in the water with functional swimwear that can double as a beach bar fit with an added sarong or shirt.

Heat Seeker

Can be found near the equator. Measures time in UV rays and tan lines.

Easy. Gift them a towel with their initials embroidered on it. Dibs on the best sun bed have never been easier.

Hotel Room Traveler

For those who travel just to sleep, I get it. No shade.

This person deserves a cozy robe with their initials embroidered on it, or a cozy cotton pyjama.

Minimalist Escapist

Owns their skincare also in mini bottles, always prepared to be packed in their overly expensive carry-on, because quality before quantity. Infinite self-control.

A monochrome set will make this person struggle with their self-control.

Trail Collector

Builds trips around jungle ridge hikes and freshwater canyon swims. Always has a story that starts with “we took a wrong turn.”

All this person need is a pair of lightweight swim shorts and a quick-drying terry shirt.
